Self-Portrait Series

Aims to illustrate the exclusion of women in the history of art and their absence in some texts even today. In doing so Kate quite literally removes the bodies of female figures from her work.

Self-portrait series show a variety of images depicting the artist draped in fabric commonly found in history paintings. Therefore she is both the artist and model, taking control of the female figure and how it is to be displayed (please see the 'Degree Show' page on the official website for more information on the installation of this series).
